WINDFALL

     Having God in my life is the ultimate windfall. In fact, I can’t imagine life without the Heavenly Father, without a merciful God who sent his Son to be our Redeemer and give us eternal life in heaven. With God in my life, I can find joy amidst sorrow, I experience wellbeing when sickness persists, and I know complete peace when anxiety strikes. Eternal life is the absolute epitome of a windfall and it has been graciously given to all of us through the death and resurrection of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! As Christians we are called to walk in the ways of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and live the Gospel by loving one another and sharing the Good News. Below is a link to access daily Scripture readings which will bring joy to our hearts with the knowledge of God’s infinite love for each one of us. There are also a few links to help our brothers and sisters in need and one link to enable us to be good stewards of one of God’s amazing creations; earth. Taking an active role in helping people is a wonderful feeling and it provides just as much of a windfall to the giver as it does to the receiver.      I am very passionate about the environment and I strive to incorporate daily actions in my life to make a positive impact on the Earth. Recycling, composting, cutting energy and water usage, and gardening are just some of the ways I try to be a good steward of God’s gift to us, our planet. I found an amazing website that rewards its members for being good caretakers of the Earth. The website is both informative and fun! This website features daily pledges worth five points and lessons and/or quizzes for an average of 20 points, so points add up quickly. Some of the rewards I have received from this program are: magazine subscriptions, a nontoxic insect repellent, and valuable coupons. With all of the damaging climate change occurring, we all need to do our part to protect the environment and this website gives you resources to do just that.

             Would you like to help those in need but it seems so overwhelming? I know how you feel. I was under the impression that because I am not Ms. Gotbucks I can’t really make a difference in the world but one website proved me wrong. Not only can I donate food to the hungry all over the world without spending a dime but I can also learn and have fun at the same time. The website; freerice.com generously donates 10 grains of rice equivalent (hence the name freerice.com) to the World Food Programme, an organization that seeks to alleviate worldwide hunger, for every question you answer correctly. The World Food Programme provides food for the hungry and malnourished across the globe.
